Credentials

I grew up in Deltona, a small suburb in Florida. In Deltona, there are only so many places you can work (all of which are technically located outside of Deltona): call centers, fast-food restaurants, department stores, and anything in between. So yes, I’ve manned the lemon-slushie carts at Captain America in Universal Studios; I've dipped munchkins at Dunkin Doughnuts with ex-convicts; I've stocked dog food cans for disgruntled Winn Dixie managers; and I've scooped poop at public parks for the Florida's Parks and Recreation Department. The ex-convicts were kinder than the Winn Dixie managers, I might add.

Education

Stetson UniversityA lifelong masochist, I spent most of my years being brainwashed by educational institutions. (Don’t worry, they haven’t got through to me yet.) I received my Bachelors from Stetson University in English Literature and Creative Writing, where I worked on Stetson’s literary magazine, Touchstone, as its editor. There, I studied contemporary poetry and did a little bit of creative writing, though my main interest has always been pop culture. At Emerson College in Boston, I earned a Masters degree in Writing, Literature and Publishing in the naive hope that I could help save the book industry from planned obsolescence.

Work History

During my undergraduate years, I did Flash work for Media Services at Stetson University, when Adobe Flash was Macromedia Flash. While in Boston, I worked for a web marketing agency called Genuine Interactive as a front-end web developer, and an independent cookbook publisher, the Harvard Common Press, as a digital assets manager. I've never been formally trained in the web, so all my knowledge is pure street cred, but I like computers. A little bit too much. And I'm waiting for the singularity. My ultimate goal, as far as careers are concerned, is to one day work in an office stocked with a rain forest of stationery.
