The Festival of the Moving Image at Stetson University showcases experimental video work by Stetson students. It has a tradition of inviting internationally acclaimed video makers and critics to distribute the prizes such as the art critic Michael Rush (author of “Video Art” by Thames & Hudson) and Michael Street (experimental filmmaker that has shown at the Whitney museum and at the Sundance Festival).
The most recent winners went on to further accomplishments like showing work at Art in General in New York (Martha Garzon), being accepted at the M.F.A. of the School of Visual Arts in NY (Laura Oxendine), and have completed an internship with an Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker (Esther Kelty). |
