Interesting commentary on a rather controversial subject. In my opinion the book wrongly assumes that those people who have a preference for paper books only do so because they grew up with them.. futher saying that all it will take is for that generation to die off. I think there is a bit more to it than that. It will be quite a while before any device is portable enough, cheap enough so that you don’t care if you lose it or if it gets stolen, able to last for a month on one battery charge, has a screen that is tweaked to acommodate anyone’s eyesight. AND even though I’m young enough and savvy enough to adopt a paperless revolution I’m not so sure I wouldn’t find enhanced text, colors, and background music extremely annoying. But anyhow, to sum it up there are so many things that would have to be in place before that will happen. I commend the publishers that are keeping an eye towards the future but I still can’t see it happening any time soon.
